Counselling is a one-to-one process that provides an approach for helping a client overcome a problem that is affecting your life at the present time. My focus will be on exploring your experience and on raising your awareness in order to help you identify your own possibilities for overcoming the problem. Counselling will enable us to work together to develop a solution that satisfies your needs.

My belief, as a counsellor, is that while you as the client have the presenting problem, somewhere within you a solution lies waiting to be discovered. I will help you to access your inner wisdom, to tap into your potential, to discover new insights that you have not been seen before, to allow the solution to emerge into awareness. My focus will be on you finding your own solution rather than me offering a solution to you.

Clients tell me consistently that talking in confidence to a counsellor, who is completely independent of your problem, is much more helpful than talking to a friend of family member. As a counsellor, I am not part of the problem but I can be very much part of helping you to develop a solution.
